Volunteers of America is a movement organized to reach and uplift all people and bring them to the knowledge and active service of God. It is a non-profit organization serving 16-parishes in Southeast Louisiana with services for the elderly, families, and individuals with mental illness, offenders and veterans.

Program Description
Mentoring Children of Promise Program is a free program for youth at risk and impacted by incarceration ages 4-18. The program is dedicated to providing our youth with a caring adult as a mentor committed to one year in the relationship and a minimum of 8 hours per month. The purpose and goal of the program is help our youth improve their social skills, improve academically, resist peer pressure and help improve their self-esteem. MCP is partnered with 30 faith based and community organizations, served over 500 children and the first mentoring program nationwide to receive accreditation.
